We arrived in Guangzhou on the o/n bus from Yangshuo, feeling tired and disorienated. Hardly the best frame of mind for hauling our bags around town looking for a hotel.
We happened to walk past the Landsman and enquired about rooms on the off chance it would be within our budget. It was. There's not many cities in China where you can get this level of comfort at such an affordable price.
The room was comfortably 3-4 star Western standard, with twin beds and well-equipped, clean bathroom.
Best of all, our room had a fabulous view of the park and lake over the road. Ask for a front-facing room.
The breakfast was a rather tired looking buffet.
Aside from the lovely park - which is always full of locals doing tai-chi, dancing and chatting - the hotel is also handy for the metro (10min walk).
A very pleasant stay.
