What a great place. Excellent facilities and staff make your stay perfect. We visited Vienna as part of a two week trip that included Venice, Milan and Paris but Vienna and the Hotel Imperial were the most memorable. The staff is very professional and polished yet warm and welcoming. The historical hotel has a grand feel with lots of marble walls, floors and balusters and the rooms are very very nice. The location is so, nice as you can walk to many museums, the cathedral and the opera house. We have stayed in many fine hotels but this one is special enough that I just wrote my first hotel review.

A truely unforgettable experience with extremely high standards of service in luxurious historical surroundings. The hotel staff were excellent with particular praise for the concierge who catered for every wish. The room was exquisite and above anything I had experienced before despite being well accustomed to 5* hotels. The staff almost thought for you. The hotel made the whole holiday in Vienna a fairytale experience and enabled us to taste a little of the grand old world Vienna that I had always imagined. Well done.

We booked last minute on expedia. The city was pretty much sold out and this was the best hotel available. We were very skeptical of the hotel having read the reviews on this site and others. We were expecting horrible service, but upon our arrival every one was cordial. We are a younger couple and were treated very nicely. The room was ample and bathrooms were magnificant!
Yes its expensive. Yes it's older. Yes people are well-dressed. But it's Vienna and its Europe! I had read some reviewers remarked about horrible service and attutude. But, I think its worth mentioning and keeping in mind that Europe in general is not as casual as some places in the US. . .it never hurts to dress up a little (and sometimes can make a difference in service).
